While these two ballads both depict a lover's dead body that has been buried. while the lover's partner mourns the death by sitting on top of the grave and wanting for one more cold clay like kiss. they also are comman in the way that they both wait one year and a day before they stop morning. while these two poems are similar they also have some diffrances. One diffrance is the fact that in the origianal a women dies and the man monrs, but in the more modern version the man dies and the women morns. this is inportant because it shows that both men and women can morn the same way.

this is the modern version by Ween.
It's interesting that you believe that there is no limits to a time of mourning. I do agree with you that there should be no set time of mourning. Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteI really like that you looked into the emotional side by saying that there should not be a set amount of time to mourn. I agree that people should not have to mourn for a certain amount of time.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think the significance is of the different types of lip descriptions?
